9ct Gold Antique Albert Watch Chain | 14.8" | 5mm
9ct Gold Antique Albert Watch Chain | 14.8" | 5mm
Goodness me this chain has it all! A perfect example of a rosey, ungraduated, 9ct gold Victorian Albert watch chain, made by C D Broughton of Birmingham. It has a dog-clip and bolt ring clasp both perfect for adding pendants or charms, as well as a sliding t-bar, making this a really versatile piece. It can be worn with the clasps to the front, side or back, t-bar visible or hidden. It is a great length at just under 15", but of course a chain extender could be added if you wanted to play around with additional length. At just shy of 40 grams it is a really good weight. It is stamped everywhere, and when I say everywhere I mean everywhere. Heavenly!
Gold: Solid, Antique, Rosey 9ct Gold
Length: 37.5cm / 14.8"
Width: 5mm ungraduated
Weight: 38.0g
Hallmarks: Chain & Jump Rings: 9 375 for 9ct Gold. Dog Clip & Bolt Ring: Makers mark CDB and 9 375 for 9ct Gold. T-bar: Makers mark CDB, 9 375 for 9ct Gold, and Anchor for Birmingham. Makers mark 'CDB' relates to C D Broughton of St Pauls Square, Birmingham, who were registered in 1881. There is no date letter present, which is common for a piece of this age, but it most likely dates to the late 1800's early 1900's, making this a Victorian Era chain.
Condition: Fantastic antique condition. Bolt ring and dog clip are both fully functioning and strong, with plenty of 'spring' in them (which is incredible considering this piece is over 100 years old!).
Condition
Condition
All our jewellery is pre-loved, vintage or antique, which, by definition, is second-hand. It is not new. It has been worn for years, decades and in some cases a century or more. Most items will show signs of wear in line with their age and history, such as scuffs, scratches or dents. This should be expected and is part of the charm of second-hand jewellery. When describing our pieces we will call out any noticeable imperfections in the description and photos, please be sure to study them carefully before making a purchase 🖤

Packaging
Packaging
We try to align our small business with the sustainability of buying pre-loved, vintage and antique pieces.
As some of you may remember, for a long while we packaged pieces in small aluminium tins that you can keep and reuse. This was to avoid as much packaging waste as possible. For various reasons, we now send items in branded cardboard jewellery boxes, carefully packaged in tissue paper and shipping boxes. These are recyclable, so we kindly ask you, where possible, to recycle or re-use as much of our packaging as possible ♽
If you would prefer to receive your piece in an aluminium tin then please do feel free to leave a note when you check out and we will do our best to accommodate.
We do sometimes have new and second-hand jewellery boxes available if you prefer. These will always be in an excellent second-hand condition. Please see our other products page for availability.
Please note: any boxes featured in product photos are props only and are not included in the listing for sale unless otherwise stated.

Resizing & Alterations
Resizing & Alterations
For pieces that can be resized, whilst we can offer a resizing and alternations service, we do recommend that you carry this out with your local jeweller as this will always ensure you are happy with the alteration and size.
If you would still like us to assist, please feel free to contact us before purchasing so that we can provide an accurate quote.
Please note we cannot offer refunds for pieces that have been altered or resized.
